Do Just Listed & Just Sold Postcards Get Results?

I am very curious about the effectiveness of Just Listed and Just Sold postcards that are mailed to homes by Realtors.

I am curious if people actually read these post cards and if they saw enough of them from any one Realtor would that be enough to hire that Realtor?

That is the goal of the postcards, they are to market the Realtor in a particular area.

There is the odd chance that a Just Listed postcard will bring buyers but more often then not they are sent only to the small area or building/complex that the home for sale is in.

In which case you are counting on that person looking to move nearby or knowing someone interested in moving into the area and passing it along.

I do not begrudge Realtors for notifying residents in their targeted area that they are listing and selling homes.

In fact I think it is a good idea to let people know you are out there in their area successfully buying and selling homes for your clients.

I just don't think that the method of mailing post cards achieves that result with enough frequency to justify the effort, costs and environmental impact.

So far no one has come up with an online alternative.

So the question I ask you is...

Do you read Just Listed & Just Sold postcards?

Do you remember which Realtors sent them?

Would you select your Realtor based upon these mailings?

If you respond in the comments I will reply, I am very curious about this and look forward to conversing about it further.
