#1 This or That...Where's The Substance To Realtor Marketing Statements?

Over the weekend Seth Godin posted a blog entry relating to Real Estate marketing statements seen on signs, billboards, bus stops etc. that made me giddy with excitement. I am a huge Seth Godin fan and to see him blog about a topic I am so passionate about made my day.

The Danger of Vague Claims by Seth Godin

Seth references statements where a Realtor is claiming to be #1 or in the Top 10 usually with no clarification of who is ranking, what they are ranking for and amongst who are they ranking.

As many know from my previous rants, Realtor bus stop advertising drives me nuts. For the simple reason that bus stop ads are not offer anything of value to a potential buyer or seller other than a giant smiling mug shot, contact info and a short bold statement like ones discussed here.

I have never understood as a consumer or a peer, Realtors (or any other business or service provider for that matter) who make claims that may be anchored in truth somehow yet are virtually impossible for the consumer to verify.
