Methods to Express Your Opposition To The British Columbia HST Online

In continuing with the conversation on British Columbia's much criticized Harmonized Sales tax I thought I would share with the listeners a few options they have to let government and fellow BCers know what they think online.

Of course there is the always relevant google search for topics relating to the HST. Simply go to google dot ca and type HST and what ever other phrase or words relating to the HST you would like to find.

On FaceBook a group has been started by Bill Tieleman for Facebook users to show their dislike of the HST by joining the group which is now at over 46000. I will warn you it does have a very pro NDP slant to it, but that is no reason to avoid joining. Even if you think the NDP is not a reasonable alternative but oppose the HST the number of members in this group may be its true value in the message it sends to government.

Gordon Campbell & Colin Hansen along with other members of the legislature are on Twitter. Twitter gives you a chance to communicate directly with them IF they are using twitter as they should.

My only suggestion is keep it clean & somewhat civil if we want politicians to continue to allow us to communicate with them via twitter.

Lastly the NDP has started an electronic petition at bcndp.ca. This will be a great method to also get the message across that residents of BC do not want this particular form of a tax increase. Again don't let party alliance interfere with your opposition to this tax, even if you are not an NDP supporter just grin and bear it long enough to sign the petition.
