Real Estate TKO Episode #4 - HST, Permits, Rain Screened Buidlings, Tax Rebates For Renovations
Welcome to Real Estate TKO Episode #4, Vancouver's latest online video show for information relating to Vancouver Real Estate and other topics that Tom & I just can't help but to discuss.
Once again the infamous HST tax comes up...and to be clear despite the snippet here I am still NOT in support of it. I do however understand the rationale behind it. I can live with it, but make no mistake I'd rather it NOT happen.
Should people doing substantial renovations on their homes apply for and await permits from the City of Vancouver?
Is it "safe" or "OK" to buy a rain screened building? These are building that were once "leaky condos" but have since been repaired and now handle the wet climate of Vancouver.
Tax rebates on home renovations are coming to an end in Feburary and the HST is likely to arrive in July, so now seems to be the time to get on doing those renovations.
