Concord Pacific's condo development Cosmo will have parking spaces that will allow condo residents to plug in and charge electric cars.
Vancouver's Cosmo will have 20% of its parking stalls equipped to charge electric cars, each stall will cost an additional $5000.
The City of Vancouver has been pushing a green focused agenda for some time now, this is an awesome step towards achieving the goals of the city.
Concord Pacific has been a leader in the condo market in Vancouver for many years now, it is awesome to see them continue to lead, in this case the green movement amongst developers.
Concepts like electric cars or hydrogen fuel cells are often dismissed as cities lack the infrastructure. Assuming this becomes a trend amongst developers a very important portion of the infrastructure may become standard in condo developments in Vancouver.
I'd be curious to hear BC Hydro's take on this, they certainly have taken the stance that we need to reduce the amount of electricity we use. The the other factor at play is not all electricity is 'green', even hydro projects are not as 'green' as people like to think.
But this is a Real Estate blog so I'll leave that for another place and time...
